Letter from Nancy Marshall, Director, Carleton Preschool

To Whom It May Concern,

Carleton Preschool has been an integral part of the Lady Evelyn Alternative School environment since its inception in 1982.  As in keeping with the alternative philosophy, and the natural inclusive environment within this school, Carleton Preschool has always been made to feel that it is an important component of this school envionment.

I visit other public schools for business purposes and never feel or see the same level of parent involvement during my short stay.  If anything, other schools "seem" less inviting because the halls are empty, there's no apparent activity.  I so enjoy the visual of life and involvement here at Lady Evelyn Alternative School.  Parents choose an alternative school because they believe in its philosophy and its parent involvement.  Lady Evelyn Alternative School has very active and involved parents.

As an Early Childhood Educator working within an alternative school environment and all the positive aspects it provides, I feel that all children and parents would benefit from an alternative philosophy.  I wish more families had the opportunity to choose an alternative school environment.

Sincerely,

Nancy Marshall, RECE, ECE.C
Director, Carleton Preschool
