The Board of Trustees will continue their debate on the future of the Alternative Program at a special continuation meeting on February 23rd at 6:00 P.M.
What we know now is:

  • the February 9th meeting will be continued on February 23rd at 6:00pm
  • because this is a "continuation meeting" no delegations or public questions will be allowed
  • there are several possible amendments planned by different trustees
  • trustees have difficult budget decisions to make in the coming weeks and they need to move on from the Alternative Review

What we need to do is:

  • BE THERE -- We can't let any trustee who might vote against our program start to think that we are getting tired of meetings or losing our resolve. We know that families showing up to support the program makes a difference.
  • BRING THE KIDS -- There were more students at the Feb 9th meeting than at any other meeting so far. This helped to show the trustees what Alternative is all about, and it's a great learning opportunity.
  • DO YOUR SHARE -- If you haven't been out to a meeting yet, it's your turn. The early start should make it easier for families with young children to attend. We need to show unrelenting concern and growing momentum!

When and where:
6:00pm, Tuesday February 23rd
Main Board Room, OCDSB Offices
133 Greenbank Road
(behind Sir Robert Borden High School)

It is uncertain how long the continuation meeting will take, though an
hour or two is likely. The regularly scheduled board meeting is supposed to take place after the continuation meeting.

Get there when you can and stay for as long as you are able.

Wear something orange or pick up a sticker on your way in.
